Activation Rules
Activation Rules offer advanced logic to determine if a particular limit should be active or not. These rules can be combined using "AND" or "OR" logic to provide highly customizable limitations based on various conditions.
If you are using Shopify Plus, you will have access to additional rule types that are derived from the checkout extensions.

Each rule has three key parts:
- Type: Defines the kind of rule.
- Condition: Sets the criteria that must be met.
- Value: Specifies the parameter against which the condition is tested.
The limit will only be active if the calculated result of all the rules is true.
The Limit Type rule is one of the most powerful rules in the Quantity Limit App. It allows you to create limits that activates based on other items in the cart.
- Is Respected

Select another limit from your existing limits.
To activate a limit only when another product is in the cart, first create a limit named "My limit rule", set it to inactive, select the product target and set a maximum quantity of 0. Then, create a limit with an activation rule stating "Limit 'My limit rule' is not respected". This way, the limit will only activate if this other product has a quantity of more than 0 in the cart.
Customer tags can be used to target specific segments of your customer base.

Date rules can be used to make a limit active during a specific period. By combining "AND" or "OR" logic you can make the limit active for multiple period.

Limitations can be applied based on the currency being used.

Select a currency code.
Shopify Plus only
This rule type can be used to target specific shopify markets. The market rule can work on standard shopify store on the storefront of the website, but the market can also change in the checkout steps. Only shopify plus stores can catch the change in the checkout steps.
