# OnAccount — User Guide

Welcome 👋 This guide explains what OnAccount does, the features available to you, and how to turn each one on. It's written for **merchants and their staff** — no code or developer setup required. Everything here is done from the Shopify admin and the Shopify POS app.

> **New here?** Start with **[Getting started](https://molsoft.crisp.help/en/article/getting-started-1n8p534/)** — it walks you through installing the app, picking a plan, and the one‑time Shopify B2B setup every feature relies on.

---

## What OnAccount does

Shopify's native B2B already provides **net terms** (payment terms). OnAccount adds the capabilities it doesn't include on its own:

- **Credit limits** — set a ceiling, per company and location, on how much can be owed on net terms, and enforce it at the POS and at online checkout.
- **Company payments** (also called **lump‑sum** payments) — collect a single payment toward a company's outstanding balance, allocated across its unpaid orders. Take it at the POS, or let buyers pay themselves from their account.
- **Delegate** — let a B2B company **manage its own** staff, locations, spend limits, and approval workflows from inside the customer account, while you keep the master switches and a store‑wide audit log.

## Features at a glance

| Feature | Plan | Where it lives | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Manage credit limits** | Credit | OnAccount admin | [Managing credit limits](https://molsoft.crisp.help/en/article/managing-credit-limits-xyg6co/) |
| **Enforce credit limits online** | Credit | Your online store + checkout | [Online‑store credit limits](https://molsoft.crisp.help/en/article/enforce-credit-limits-in-your-online-store-o27efj/) |
| **Collect a company payment at POS** ⚡ | Payments | Shopify POS → **Collect Company Payment** tile | [Collecting payments at POS](https://molsoft.crisp.help/en/article/collect-company-payments-at-pos-x3723v/) |
| **Let buyers pay from the console** ⚡ | Payments | Customer account → Delegate console → **Payments** | [Customer‑account payments](https://molsoft.crisp.help/en/article/let-buyers-pay-invoices-from-their-account-6rsgfw/) |
| **Monthly outstanding statements** | Payments | Delegate console → **Statements** + OnAccount admin | [Audit logs & monthly statements](https://molsoft.crisp.help/en/article/audit-logs-monthly-statements-3fh8x2/) |
| **B2B self‑service (Delegate)** | Governance | OnAccount admin + customer account + online store | [Delegate — B2B self‑service](https://molsoft.crisp.help/en/article/delegate-overview-1rfsuep/) |

> **Plans are nested** — Payments includes Credit, and Governance includes everything. Pick one on the **Plans** page; see [Getting started](https://molsoft.crisp.help/en/article/getting-started-1n8p534/).
> ⚡ = also needs **Shopify Plus**. Only *collecting* company payments (POS and customer account) requires Plus — statements and everything else don't.

> 🤝 **Selling at a physical counter too?** The **B2B POS** sister app lets cashiers place on‑account B2B orders at the register, enforcing the credit limits you set in OnAccount. See [Integrations](https://molsoft.crisp.help/en/article/onaccount-integrations-1u18to0/).

## A few terms used throughout

- **Company / company location** — Shopify B2B models a business as a *Company* with one or more *Company Locations*. A buyer is a *contact* assigned to a location.
- **Net terms** — a **Shopify B2B** payment‑terms feature: the customer takes the goods now and pays the balance later. OnAccount counts that unpaid balance against the company's credit limit.
- **Pay in full** — the order is paid at the time of sale. It finances nothing and is never blocked by a credit limit.
- **Outstanding balance** — how much a company currently owes across its unpaid orders. OnAccount keeps this up to date for you automatically.
- **Credit limit** — the ceiling on how much a company (or one of its locations) is allowed to owe at once.
- **Company payment (lump‑sum)** — a single payment collected toward a company's outstanding balance and allocated across its unpaid orders.
