Setting Up a Limit Where a Product is Available Only After Reaching a Certain Monetary Threshold


This guide will walk you through creating limits that ensure a product can only be purchased once a specific monetary cart threshold is met. Follow the steps below to set up the necessary limits in your app.


Step 1: (Limit 1) - Create the "Minimum Reached" Limit

  1. Navigate to the Limits section in MinCart.
  2. Click "Create New Limit."
  3. Configure the limit settings as follows:
  • Limit Type: Whole Cart
  1. Name the Limit: Use a clear and descriptive name, such as “Minimum 100.00 Reached.”
  2. Active: Uncheck this box, This inactive limit will be used as activation rules for the other limit.
  3. Limit Audience: This will be Everyone unless it is towards a certain targeted group.
  4. **Tags Exclusion: **Leave Blank
  5. Set Limits: By Total Price, set the minimum cart price to the price threshold.
  6. Advanced Settings: Check off force Limit.
  7. **Price Limits Exclusions: **Exclude the product that will become available when the minimum is reached
  8. Save the Limit.




Step 2: (Limit 2) Create the Product Restriction Limit

  1. Navigate to the Limits section in MinCart.
  2. Click "Create New Limit."
  3. Configure the limit settings as follows:
  • Limit Type: Product
  1. Name the Limit: Use a clear and descriptive name, such as “$100 purchase - Product Unlocked”
  2. Active: Check this box
  3. Limit Audience: This will be Everyone unless it is towards a certain targeted group.
  4. **Tags Exclusion: **Leave Blank
  5. Items To Target: Select the product that will become available.
  6. Set Limits: By Quantity, set the maximum product quantity to "0".
  7. Advanced Settings: Leave Force Limit unchecked.
  8. **Quantity Limits Exclusions: **Leave as is, with nothing excluded
  9. Activation rules: Limit - Select the first limit you create - Is not Respected.
  10. **Quantity Limits Texts: **Adjust the content to inform your visitors they need to reach the original limit.
  11. Save the Limit.



How It Works

  • When the customer’s cart does not meet the minimum price threshold (e.g., $50), the product will be restricted to a maximum quantity of 0, making it unavailable.



  • Once the cart reaches the minimum price threshold, the restriction is lifted, allowing the product to be purchased.
