Does MinCart Support Multi-Currency Functionality?

Yes, MinCart supports multi-currency functionality, but you’ll need to set it up properly for it to work as intended. Without additional configuration, MinCart applies the same limit across all currencies, regardless of the one selected on your website.

Default Behavior

If NO additional rules are applied and your website supports multiple currencies, the minimum dollar limit will remain the same for all currencies. For example.

  • If you set a Whole Cart limit of $50, customers will see:
  • $50 CAD for Canadian currency.
  • $50 USD for U.S. currency.

Multi-Currency Setup Options

There are two ways to configure multi-currency limits in MinCart:

Option 1: Shopify Plus Users

  • Use the "Market" Activation Rule in MinCart.
  • This allows you to create specific limits for each market directly within the Activation Rules settings.

Option 2: Non-Shopify Plus Users

  • Use the "Activation Rules" to set currency-specific limits.
  • For example:
  • To set a $50 minimum for USD and a $100 minimum for CAD, create two separate limits.
  • For the USD limit, add an activation rule: "Currency is equal to USD."
  • For the CAD limit, add an activation rule: "Currency is equal to CAD."

By following these steps, you can ensure that your multi-currency limits function correctly for all customers.
